El Nabaa - Marsa Alam

El Nabaa offers two distinct kite spots, both served by the same kitesurfing center, making it a versatile destination for all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn, a freestyler practicing tricks in the lagoon, or an advanced waverider seeking adventure in the swell, El Nabaa caters to everyone.

The area directly in front of the center features shallow, sandy waters for the first 50 meters, making it easy to launch and ideal for beginners and intermediates. The first waves begin to roll about 200 meters out, creating a safe and supportive environment for those progressing in their kitesurfing skills.

Surfers Bay, located in front of the center, benefits from a wooden jetty that frames the windward side, calming the wind slightly and flattening the water on the inside of the bay. The jetty and nearby potato-shaped reef further moderate the water conditions, providing smoother water on the inside. Advanced kitesurfers will quickly move toward the open sea, where rolling dune waves form further out. These waves don’t break, offering a gentle introduction to wave riding for those seeking a taste of surfing in a more controlled environment.

The second kite spot is perfect for beginners and freestyle kiters. It boasts a large shallow area, depending on the tide, and a turquoise flatwater pool, perfect for freestylers to hone their skills. This pool, independent of tidal conditions, provides ample space for about 10 kitesurfers at a time, making it ideal for trick progression in calm, icy-flat water.

The wind at El Nabaa blows side-shore, maintaining a steady 15-20 knots throughout the year, with stronger conditions during the summer months. Winds are most consistent during the daytime, ensuring reliable kitesurfing conditions.
