Magawish Beach in Hurghada offers perfect kitesurfing conditions for all levels, with clean winds, sandy banks, and shallow waters for beginners, plus advanced options.
Magawish Beach in Hurghada is the only surf spot in the area offering unobstructed winds, both windward and leeward, with stunning Caribbean-style sandbanks. Known for having the cleanest wind in Hurghada, this spot is ideal for kiteboarders of all levels.
The kitesurfing station, located right on the beach of the Mercure Hurghada Hotel, provides ample space—a true luxury for riders.
Magawish offers two main kitesurfing options. Advanced riders can kitesurf directly in front of the center, where deep waters and a downwind reef require staying upwind. The beach in front of the center is narrow, so launching a kite requires stepping into the water. Further up the lagoon, the beach is wider but may have rocks and shells, and kiteboarders should be cautious of the sun-umbrellas. Well-marked zones help distinguish safe kiting areas. Corals near parts of the sandbar and downwind from the center mean that shoes are a good idea for less experienced riders.
Alternatively, a few hundred meters offshore, a sandbar provides a vast shallow area with beautiful turquoise waters, perfect for beginners. Beginner kiteboarders can take advantage of a boat shuttle to the shallow sandbanks.
