Conil, located 65 kilometers (40 miles) northwest of Tarifa, is a nice place to get away from it all. Beginners should go to a small tidal lagoon, but you can even venture out into the open sea for some action. On some days, you'll discover glassy conditions, and on a falling tide, you'll find some great waves with a swell.
When the wind is lighter and more consistent, it works well with a Poniente. With powerful side-offshore winds, the conditions are not as good as they are in other parts of the coast with a Levante.
