Punta Paloma is the northernmost beach in Tarifa's bay, around 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of town. It's a clean and broad spot that's ideal for beginners with a Levante wind. The wind blows side-onshore with the Poniente, creating rough conditions for less experienced kiters.
Kitesurfing is allowed all year. Kitezones are set up along the shore from June 15 to September 15. The majority of the area is dedicated to kitesurfing, with a tiny area dedicated to windsurfers and a small area dedicated to swimmers. Although the zones are not especially well defined, you should aim to avoid the other zones to avoid any potentially dangerous accidents.
