For flatwater enthusiasts and beginners, 4 kilometers northwest of Taiba, there is a well-known lagoon that serves as a playground for freestyle addicts and a place where beginners can begin riding their first meters without the discomfort of current and waves. The negative of this place is that during peak season, there can be an excess of kiters wanting to ride here, and the lagoon isn't large enough to accommodate everyone. Nonetheless, it's always entertaining to watch the pros train; you can always learn something new.
Although beginners' courses are frequently offered there, the lagoon is rarely overcrowded. You can kitesurf slightly behind the headland if there is too much going on in the front area. There is generally adequate area for kitesurfing there. The lagoon is nearly waist deep and primarily made up of sandy subsoil. The shoreline inland can be muddy at times. The lagoon has been dredged for several years to prevent it from spilling into the sea. The freshwater lagoon hasn't been tidal since then.
