Barra do Cauipe

This lagoon is located 7 kilometers outside of Cumbuco settlement, directly adjacent to the sea, separated by a very small sandbank. The water is absolutely flat here, making it excellent for beginners learning to kite and freestylers searching for a playground. During the season, you may expect to see a number of professional riders flying about here. We recommend getting there early because the lagoon begins to fill up quickly around midday.

Another option is to downwind till you reach the Lagoa de Cauipe, riding waves along the way, and then kite the lagoon for the remainder of the day. There are a lot of great chill-out areas around the lagoon where you can grab a beer or a bite to eat while watching the pros kite.
