Gokceada is the largest Turkish island. There are two different spots with diverse conditions situated in the southeast of the island. The first spot is located just by a village called Eselek. The beach is 2.5 km long and has onshore wind. The second spot is situated just around the corner on Aydincik Beach.
On Gokceada, you can count on regular and powerful Meltemi winds, the northern wind typical for the Aegean Sea. It is strongest in the morning and drops as the day goes by. The wind frequently picks up again around 5 o'clock.
The season starts in May and ends in October. During the peak months of July and August, there is a 90% probability of wind stronger than 14 knots. It is not unusual for the Meltemi to be stronger than 25 knots.
On Aydincik Beach, offshore winds create a mirror-flat water spot. Aydincik Beach offers perfect conditions for advancing in freestyle and racing every morning. For beginners, it is suitable in the afternoon when the wind falls.
Aydincik Beach is smaller than the Eselek spot but offers enough space. The seabed is sandy and safe. The Beach has always been a paradise for windsurfers. Today, it has two separate zones, specifically for kitesurfers and windsurfers.
The center is equipped with two rescue boats for assistance.
