El Jadida is located just over 60 miles south of Casablanca. The old city is celebrated for its impressive Portuguese walls and historic water tank.
El Jadida Beach, the main urban beach is a well-known kitesurfing spot, drawing enthusiasts from Casablanca to Safi. Facing northeast, the beach works well with strong north or northeast winds, often creating challenging onshore conditions.
Winter brings sizable 2-3m swells, and while the onshore wind can make the water choppy, it’s ideal for riders seeking wave conditions. When the south winds blow, the beach transforms into a great surfing spot, though offshore conditions can be risky due to limited rescue options.
This city-centered beach can become crowded with beachgoers and soccer players, especially on weekends and during the summer months.
