Viganj on the Pelješac peninsula is one of the most popular and windiest kitesurfing spots in Croatia. Sea channel between Pelješac and Korčula and the wind that blows in it, provides ideal conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
You will find the best thermal wind conditions from June to end of August. It´s Maestral from the northwest. But also Bora from the northeast and the Jugo from the south, should not be neglected.
The launching/landing pad is reported to be small, and you also have to be mindful of the crowds and obstacles you may encounter.
The spot has crystal clear water, a lively scene very close by and picturesque villages. You can find a very lively night scene on the local clubs and bars after your session during the day.

Hazards
Small place to launch/land the kite, Crowded water, Non-kiters on the beach, Non-kiters in the water, Ship traffic, Currents
Really busy, launch spot is really small. Traffic is horrible, ships, swimmers, windsurfers, so its very hectic. Also (due to it being very busy?) people are not so friendly as other spots.
This spot is perfect mainly for windsurfing and foiling. Because the water is deep immediately, there are currents, big ships sailing around and the biggest problem is the very small place to launch and land the kite. There is place only for one kite and you have a bar on one side and people lying on the beach on the other side. It is definitely NOT for beginners. Also the prices for food and the camping are not low… But the wind is usually great and you can kite on one direction in the morning and on the other direction in the afternoon.
