Ras Sudr

Kitesurfing in Ras Sudr offers an incredible experience in a developing yet serene destination located in South Sinai. Conveniently situated between Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh airports, Ras Sudr is easily accessible, taking around three hours from either airport. Unlike some of the busier spots for kitesurfing in Egypt, Ras Sudr maintains a laid-back atmosphere, free from overcrowded mega-resorts, yet still equipped with everything you need for an unforgettable kitesurfing trip. All the kite centers are spread along a 40-kilometer stretch, but to explore the area or visit different spots, you'll need a car or taxi.

The main draw of kitesurfing Ras Sudr is the 2-kilometer stretch of waist-deep water with constant side on-shore wind, making it a safe and spacious spot for riders of all levels. The sandy beach and shallow waters ensure that even beginners who lose control won’t drift into deep waters, and there are no rocks near the beach to pose any danger. The wind blows inland, creating ideal conditions for kitesurfing with steady wind speeds ranging from 16 to 25 knots, and during September, it can even reach up to 30 knots. The best time to visit is between March and November when the wind is most reliable.
