Praia Nova Vaga stands as one of the three kitesurfing havens along the Costa da Caparica, south of Lisbon. Positioned on an expansive sandy beach, this spot offers a consistently lifting wind, making it a preferred choice for kitesurfing enthusiasts. Accessing the sandy beach is easy, and the absence of rock hazards ensures a smooth experience.

Praia Nova Vaga is characterized as a kitesurfing spot with shallow waters and small to medium waves. The beach at Nova Vaga is truly remarkable, featuring soft sand free of any rocks, shells, or pebbles. The launching/landing area is notably spacious, offering a generous expanse for kitesurfers. The vast stretch of coastline provides ample space, ensuring a safe riding experience for all enthusiasts.

Best wind conditions are West and North West winds. Usually the wind lifts really well, providing an excellent setting for big air. Note that the wind is usually less strong than in Fonte da Telha, but Fonte da Telha, especially in summer, is a nightmare to park.

Operational throughout the year, Praia Nova Vaga does present a chilly water temperature, necessitating the use of a full body wetsuit for comfort during kitesurfing sessions. Optimal times to visit Praia Nova Vaga are during the months of May, June, July, August, and September.

Praia Nova Vaga is situated between two designated swimmer beaches, demanding respect for their boundaries, particularly during the summer season. Lifeguards are present, ensuring safety and enforcing the restricted kitesurf zone. Kitesurfers should be attentive to lifeguard signals during summer months, as whistles may indicate proximity to swimmers and restricted areas.
