Located just 20 minutes from Chumphon city, Tung Wua Laen Beach, also known as Cabana Beach, is a 3 km-long sandy beach offering some of the best wind conditions in Thailand. Thanks to its unique geographical location, the northeastern monsoon winds are amplified, making this spot superior to many others in the country.
The main season goes from mid-October through mid-January. The wind usually peaks in the afternoon and blows side onshore, which is an ideal direction for kitesurfing and also makes it a great spot for learning quickly and safely. The wind passes by a big mountain that’s upwind of Cabana Beach, causing additional acceleration and increasing the wind speed by a few knots.
The water conditions vary, with some chop and occasional bigger waves, but a large sandbank creates a waist-deep flatwater area, making it perfect for beginners.
Unlike other Thai destinations, Cabana Beach remains uncrowded, offering a peaceful setting for both kitesurfing and relaxation.
