The most favorable wind directions for kitesurfing at Thong Sala Beach are east, east-southeast, and southeast, blowing sideshore to side-onshore. The main kitesurfing season runs from mid-December to March, during the northeast monsoon, when winds range from 15-20 knots, occasionally reaching 25-30 knots on stronger days. April sees little to no wind due to seasonal transitions.
A secondary wind season occurs from July to October, brought by the southwest monsoon. While generally lighter, winds can be reinforced by passing rainstorms, occasionally exceeding 20 knots.
