El Gouna Watersports Festival 2021 Verified listing

EL GOUNA water sports festival will include a variety of activities. This time we will be conducting the 2nd edition of KITEMANIA for 2021, in addition to Windsurfing, Sailing, and Wakeboarding competitions with amazing cash prizes as we have done in our previous events.

Create a fun one of a kind 2–3-day Kitesurfing event (EL GOUNA KITEMANIA) that includes different activities suiting all riding levels aiming to attract local riders to El GOUNA on a yearly basis. KITEMANIA will hold a big air challenge for expert riders, advanced riders, and female riders.

EVENT FORMAT
Wind Conditions: 18 knots + and steady force combined with the right direction. In case conditions were not good, the Head judge will reschedule the event.

Big Air Challenge – Expert Riders
An open competition only pro riders challenging them to push their boundaries and showcase their talents for a chance to win an attractive cash prize. Additional prizes to be added from Kitesurfing brands who will sponsor the competition.

Big Air Challenge – Advanced Rider
An open competition only for advanced riders challenging them to push their boundaries and showcase their talents for a chance to win an attractive cash prize. Additional prizes to be added from Kitesurfing brands who will sponsor the competition.

Big Air Challenge – Women
An open competition only for female riders challenging them to push their boundaries and showcase their talents for a chance to win an attractive cash prize. Additional prizes to be added from Kitesurfing brands who will sponsor the competition.

The Heat times adjustable to conditions (aiming for 7 minute heats) all heats will be single elimination.

Slalom Race
This is an open event for all kiters, where they will be maneuvering through a Slalom course (Upwind/Downwind)

Relay Race
The Relay Race will consist of teams of 3s going against other teams of 3s. Teams will be chosen randomly through a tombola. Kiters won’t know their team mates until the draw is finalized. Riders will start from Makani Beach Club and will go through a designated course leading back to Makani beach club to tag their team member to do the same and so on. First team to hit the beach WINS.

Speed Record Challenge
An event for all riders to set their speed record on the water. Speed Chart will be printed and placed in all centers across Egypt.

Any rider below 18 years old needs to submit a proof of riding capability. For racing events only inflatable kites and regular twin tips will be allowed.
