Koh Samui, the second-largest island in the Gulf of Thailand, is renowned for its pristine white sandy beaches, lush coconut groves, rainforests, and luxurious resorts and spas. Among its notable kitesurfing spots is Nahai Beach, situated on the southern coast of the island. Known for its snow-white sand and crystal-clear waters, Nahai Beach is surrounded by a coral reef that provides natural protection, preventing jellyfish from entering the area.
The beach is particularly popular with kitesurfing enthusiasts from November to April (with best time from November to February), when consistent winds from the northeast and east create ideal conditions for riders of all levels. Its shallow waters and wide sandy shore offer a safe and comfortable environment for beginners and experienced kitesurfers alike. During this windy season, the location is a hub for the kitesurfing community, with a dedicated kite school conveniently located at the beach’s entrance.
Often referred to as Orchid Kitebeach, Nahai Beach is not only a kitesurfing haven but also a well-equipped recreational spot. It features amenities such as toilets, showers, bars, and restaurants, and even welcomes dogs. A nearby parking area ensures easy access, making it a convenient and enjoyable destination for both kitesurfers and beachgoers.
The beach can occasionally have some litter as the onshore winds may carry debris onto the shore.
