GKA Kite-Surf World Cup Dakhla, Morocco 2024

The Qatar Airways GKA Kite World Tour Kite-Surf riders will line up at one of the kitesurfing world’s most contestable wave riding venues at West Point in Morocco running from 27th September – 06th October 2024.

Prevailing Winds

In the winter, a northeast wind typically blows at speeds of 19 - 25 knots, increasing to 30 knots during the summer months of July and August.

Water Conditions

Renowned as one of the world's premier kitesurfing destinations, this coast experiences excellent ground swells that wrap around the points, particularly at Westpoint. This creates ideal conditions for a combination of wave and strapless freestyle events with cross-onshore winds. The water temperature remains between 19-24°C (66-75°F) throughout the year. The lagoons offer perfectly flat water, making them ideal for achieving big air!
